Knowledge is Chic

With everything at our fingertips the wealth of knowledge available on the web can be overwhelming. When I manage to find something genuinely good and useful (because there is plenty out there that is completely useless) either from editorial mentions, friends' tips, or my own search I feel an obligation to share it.

In 1999 Bills, Bills, Bills debuted as a hit single for Destiny's Child and since then I have been indoctrinated in the importance for women to be financially independent and smart (yes, I usually rely on the wisdom of female R&B artists). Emphasizing the latter, these sites provide endless resources to managing personal finances--a simple and empowering skill instead of a bewildering monthly task.

Sleeping Beauty: Floral Fantasies

The environment you live in has a huge impact on the way you live. The same goes for the way you sleep. I couldn't figure out why I was having so much difficulty sleeping this summer. Once I realized how uninspired my temporary space and night time routine was all signs pointed to re-energizing my environment. Florals have such a calming quality that finding multiple ways to integrate them before sleep will relax you more effectively. The following floral details help me sleep more soundly so I can approach my days full of energy:

Savannah in 4 hours

It is not entirely fair to only give a destination four hours to make an indelible impression, yet somehow Savannah managed to do so on a sticky Thursday morning in August. Reduced to this time limit and no prior research or itinerary I was lucky enough to run into these gems of the Southern city (and purposefully avoiding all things Paula Deen). Please let me know of places I overlooked.

The Bottom Line: I was enamored with the distinct quality that many of the Savannah shoppes and boutiques shared... the in-store coffee bar (but more often supplying cold italian sodas and georgia peach tea).

8:00am-9:00am Walk the historic district early and choose your favourite park square and home

9:00am-11:00am Peruse the many boutiques on Broughton Street
11:00am-12:00pm Try the lime chicken tacos ($11) at local lunchtime favourite Kayak Kafe

Beginnings

I am not a natural blonde. And I have my fair share of visible roots. For some people an imperfection, but for me, my roots are evidence of where I have come from and where I am going. I can't ignore them, and eventually I have to address them...only to see them return in a month or so. Seemingly, roots are one of the most stable and organic components of my life. They are proof that I continue to grow everyday. And with each day I find new inspirations that I want to share with you.
